IN PICTURES: THE OPENING PARTY OF ANTJE PETERS’ EXHIBITION «ARBEITSRÄUME» AT SCHLACHTER151

Our gallery, Schlachter151, which shares the same space as the offices of Numéro Berlin and Fräulein Magazine, has always been seen as an extension of the magazines, enabling our community to experience the vision of those involved with the magazines not only on printed pages but also in real life.

We were particularly thrilled that Antje Peters, one of the photographers who is an important part of the Fräulein family, opened her exhibition “Arbeitsräume” at Schlachter151.

On a warm summer day, we invited our friends and family to the gallery to have a first look at Antje Peters’ photographs and to enjoy conversations and a relaxed barbecue. In our backyard, we offered grilled food and free drinks, while Jerome Sydenham set the mood with his captivating DJ set.

The music icon from Nigeria shaped the sound of early house music in the New York club scene of the late 90s and early 2000s. Since then, he has performed at some of the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin. In 1995, Sydenham founded his own label, Ibadan Records, which has become a staple in the underground dance music community. During his set at the exhibition opening at Schlachter151, he was occasionally accompanied by singer Fatima Njai. The rising Swedish singer-songwriter with Gambian roots is known for her soulful voice and a music style that combines contemporary R&B with traditional soul, drawing comparisons to Erykah Badu and Alicia Keys.

It was no wonder, then, that other music legends were among our guests that evening. Casey Spooner, frontman of legendary electronic music duo Fisherspooner, joined the party, as did top model Nicole Atieno, actor Sebastian Hoffmann, and vintage fashion icon Zorica Stojanovic.
