THE COMEBACK OF THE “FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE”
On October 3 1962, NASA astronaut Walter Schirra startet the Sigma 7 mission of the Mercury program with a very special companion – a watch he personally selected for the journey. Since that moment, the OMEGA Speedmaster CK 2998 has been celebrated by watch enthusiasts and Speedmaster collectors alike, earning the nickname “First OMEGA in Space”.
Over 60 years later, OMEGA is honoring the iconic timepiece with a a new edition, available in three distinct models. Customers can choose between a black or brown leather strap with clasp or opt for a flat-link bracelet made entirely of metal, paired with OMEGA‘s signature comfort closure.
A seahorse medallion, along with three engravings – “SPEEDMASTER”, “THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE” and ” OCTOBER 3, 1962″ – further commemorates the watch’s historic role in space exploration.
ZARA LAUNCHES NEW COLLECTION WITH STEFANO PILATI
On October 3, Zara unveiled its latest global collection in a special collaboration with renowned designer Stefano Pilati.
The ready-to-wear line expands both the women’s and men’s wardrobes, shaped by Pilati’s distinctive sense of style. The collection includes a range of timeless pieces such as coats, sweaters, dresses and shoes, all embodying the essence of contemporary fashion. With this launch, Zara continues its innovative approach to fashion, now enhanced by the expertise of an extraordinary master of his craft.
In addition to the collection, a campaign featuring Stefano Pilati alongside supermodel Gisele Bündchen has been revealed. The campaign, shot in New York by photographer Steven Meisel, highlights the elegance and modernity of the collection.
THE NEW NIKE TECH WOVEN SUIT
On October 3, global sports brand Nike launched its new Woven Suit, an update to the classic Nike Tech line, featuring even more practical pieces.
The suit includes a full-zip jacket paired with two pant options. One is an oversized version, offering customers adjustable details for a more customizable fit. The other is a more tapered option, providing a sleeker, more streamlined look.
In addition, this new collection introduces six fresh color options alongside the classic black and cobalt colorways.
The lightweight jacket and pants are designed for all-day wear, keeping athletes cool and dry with Nike’s renowned Dri-FIT technology, making them ideal for everyday use.
LE LABO INTRODUCES THEIR NEW CANCLE SCENT: CYPRÉS 21
Le Labo, renowned for its distinctive candle fragrances, continues to develop scents, which are crafted using a high concentration of fragrance oils and a unique blend of waxes. In addition, the candles feature natural fiber wicks, ensuring an aromatic and cozy atmosphere. The glass vessels add a stylish touch, making these candles the perfect accessory for any home.
On October 7, the brand launched its latest classic candle, CYPRÉS 21. It is designed to evoke the feeling of a secluded cabin deep in the woods, far from the reach of any phones and the glow of blue light – an ideal antidote to the modern-day burnout.
CYPRÉS 21 offers a harmonious blend, featuring spicy notes of juniper, clove, and star anise, balanced by comforting incense and patchouli.
THE MAKING OF PRADA’S FALL/WINTER 2024 BOW DRESS
In their latest Fall/Winter collection, Prada showcased a stunning dress with tone-on-tone satin bows, featuring a pink and purple color palette.
50 meters of ribbon and 13 hours of embroidery were required to create one of these masterpieces of craftsmanship. The process involves several steps, including cutting the sablé fabric, positioning the bows, and hand-cutting and securing the satin ribbons by the embroiderer. The embroidery is sewn along a chevron pattern at specific points across the dress, including the neckline and the hip area.
Overall, the collection was heavily inspired by history, intertwining it with romance by transforming traditionally masculine materials into feminine designs. This is achieved through the use of clichés such as bows, ruffles, and frills.
Marsèll UNVEILS NEW FALL / WINTER 2024 CAMPAIGN: FONDAMENTA
The innovative brand Marsèll presents its latest Fondamenta campaign, placing a spotlight on the new Fasma clutch in a subtle mist colorway.
At first glance, Marcèlls first-ever still-life campaign resembles a sculpture rather than a traditional product showcase. Collaborating with photographer Louis De Belle and embracing this unique visual approach, Marséll aims to emphasize its ongoing vision of reimagining the future.
With this campaign, the brand highlights its mission to work with the art subtraction – reducing familiar objects like shoes or bags to their most essential forms. By simplifying them to the point of near abstraction, Marséll lets the essence of each piece take center stage, allowing the spirit of the object to become the true focus.
DR. MARTENS INTRODUCES NEW EDITIONS OF THE 1460 BOOT FOR AW24
For over 60 years, Dr. Martens has been renowned for its iconic 1460 boots. Signature details like the yellow stitching, grooved sole, and heel-loop have defined the style since the release of the first-ever pair. The 1460 Boot has since become a timeless piece and a foundation for innovative designs, embodying quality, versatility, and durability.
In this spirit, Dr. Martens now unveils the 1460 Sub Boot and the 14XX Sub Boot. The 1460 Sub Boot, available in a black colorway, is designed to withstand wet weather. While maintaining the brand’s signature 8-eye silhouette and heel loop, it features a waterproof sole and water-resistant upper, elevating the classic 1460 for enhanced durability.
With the 14XX Sub Black & White Boot, Dr. Martens takes a bold approach to experimental design. This version stands out with removable, adjustable gaiters, fleece lining for added warmth, and a striking Snow Camo that pushes the boundaries of style.
