THE BRAND FOR MODERN TRAVEL: FLOYD
Founded in 2019, Floyd has established itself as a brand that captures the modern spirit of travel by crafting unique and distinctive travel equipment. Although the founders, Munich-based skateboarders Bernd Georgi and Horst Kern, grew up inspired by the Californian lifestyle and skateboard culture of the early 1970s, they never experienced it firsthand. Nevertheless, they transformed their passion into a successful career.
Today, after gaining professional experience worldwide, Georgi and Kern bring together skateboard culture and the essence of travel in their luggage designs. Each piece features a lightweight and durable aluminium outer shell and sturdy wheels inspired by the iconic skateboard wheels. With a focus on both functionality and style, Floyd´s range includes a variety of travel bags and accessories that carry on the spirit of California in the 70s.

A FARAWAY SHINING STAR, TWINKLING IN HAND BY RINKO KAWAUCHI
Starting on December 6, Fotografiska Berlin celebrates Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi by opening the exhibition a faraway shining star, twinkling in hand. This exhibition showcases Kawauchi´s dreamy, poetic imagery, where she combines photography and video art to capture everyday moments from various perspectives on life.
In her work, Kawauchi delves into themes of human impermanence and raises questions about the future of our planet. The COVID-19 pandemic deepened her awareness of the world´s constant change and chaos, highlighting the importance of slowing down and being present. Kawauchi encourages us to find strength in overlooked, everyday moments that often contain unexpected beauty.
The exhibition runs until April 20, 2025.
