MYKITA CELEBRATES THE SKI SEASON WITH NEW SUNGLASSES

Good sunglasses complete a winter outfit and protect the eyes from the sunrays intensified by the reflection of the snow. Therefore, Berlin-based eyewear brand Mykita presents its best glasses and sunglasses designs for the cold season: On one hand, KIMBER und SAMAR, two new types of the Chilled Raw glasses that are hand-made from acetate in Berlin and have a voluminous shape and a mat finish. On the other hand, a design more on the minimalistic, classic side: ML15, the brand-new model in the LEICA collection. This collection is also getting Light Gold as an additional color option.

TRAUMA SAYS GOODBYE TO BAR & KINO AND RELAUNCHES AS GLOBAL CURATIONAL PLATFORM

TRAUMA Bar und Kino, a cornerstone of Berlin’s cultural art and music scene, is closing its location on Heidestraße 50 after six years. The project fuses contemporary art, performance, music and club culture, and evolves now into a global curatorial platform to free itself from the constraints of a fixed physical space. The TRAUMA curatorial team says about the relaunch: “In 2025, TRAUMA will part ways with its ‘Bar und Kino’ and relaunch as a global platform with a pioneering and disruptive curatorial perspective. Now any site, in any city, at any time, could transform into TRAUMA. Artworks that are club nights that are performances that are films that are environments. TRAUMA is an independent Art World. TRAUMA is now everywhere.”

To bid farewell to its Berlin venue, TRAUMA hosted a special event featuring performances by Mayah Alkhateri and Sega Bodega, alongside sets by Oli XL, Why Be, Mobilegirl, and Niko Adomako. The event also unveiled the new brand identity as a dynamic and contemporary art institution.

G-STAR TEAMS UP WITH THOMASINE BARNEKOW FOR JEANS GLOVES

Thomasine Barnekow is a master in her niche: designing gloves. The woman with the beautiful Parisian boutique already created tulle, satin, and leather gloves for Yves Saint Laurent and as accessories for the red carpet looks of Beyoncé and Margot Robbie. In collaboration with G-Star, Thomasine Barnekow dedicates herself to an unusual fabric for gloves–denim. The exclusive capsule collection consists of three handcrafted couture designs and one wearable unisex glove made of recycled G-Star denim. It comes in two sizes and is available for €449 in Barnekow’s boutique and online. Braided zippers and the combination of denim, lamb leather, and silk lining make these gloves look extraordinary while still staying elegant.

ASICS SPORTSTYLE UNVEIL SS25 CAMPAIGN & NEW STYLES

The new ASICS campaign produced in Japan focuses on the theme “Feel Comfort, Find Energy”. It blends a strong retro aesthetic with relatable situations to show the versatility of ASICS shoes in everyday situations. At the same time, it reveals two new sneaker models: The JOG 100S combines a retro look with contemporary features like an OrthoLite insole for everyday comfort, and the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT reimagines 2010s running shoe designs, featuring bold eyelet details, a special cushioning, and the Scutoid GEL technology for maximal comfort. Both shoe designs stay true to classic ASICS design elements while opening up to modern innovation, offering style and ease for every occasion.

TEN C TEAMED UP WITH TIEMME FOR THEIR SECOND FOOTWEAR COLLAB

Luxury outerwear fashion brand Ten c and hiking boots manufacturing Diemme met again to get creative together after a successful collection in 2023. The outcome: a new version of the classic Rosset model–the Anterselva shoe, which combines Diemme’s Italian artisan tradition and the functional approach of Ten C in one product. Anterselva, named after the alpine lake of Anterselva in the province of Bolzano, maintains its trekking functionality and comes in neutral colors (beige, black, and forest green). Reduced to the max, the shoe is fully crafted in Italy and made of a high-quality leather upper and a sturdy sole connected with an oversized rubber band. This boot collaboration focuses on the ultimate craftsmanship and is distributed in 45 boutiques worldwide and available online.

MARSÈLL PRESENTS THE CALYPSO LIGHT BY FREDERIK FIALIN

Until January 6, 2025, Marsèll’s flagship store in Via della Spiga 42, Milan, hosts “The Calypso Light”, collaborating with Danish designer Frederik Fialin. This project transforms Fialin’s lamps with Marsèll’s signature leather, creating matte-finished shades that highlight the tension between light’s transience and the softness of the material. The installation features three leather-clad floor lamps and two oversized suspended versions. Being part of Marsèll’s ongoing exploration of design, this project redefines everyday objects as living installations. Artist Frederik Fialin said about his experience working with leather: “Elevating the material to eye level offers a new perspective on leather, a material common in footwear but rare in this context. This collaboration marks the first time Studio Frederik Fialin has worked with leather, making it an exciting and rewarding challenge.”
